What Should I Wear?!

One of my most frequently asked questions is what should I wear to class? Specifically, do I need to buy padded shorts or a padded seat? My answer is always the same…don’t waste your money! The truth is, your rear end will be sore the first few times you ride, but it won’t take long for your body to adapt. My golden rule is give it two weeks of riding at least twice a week. If you are still sore, go ahead and buy a padded seat, not shorts. You will save money, (seat covers run about $15 a pop as opposed to $30+ for shorts) and you can just keep it in your gym bag!

Let’s be honest, one of the best parts of getting into a workout regimen is buying cute clothes! There are so many options out there, but when it comes to cycling, the appropriate garb can be a tad different than what you might wear to yoga or the gym. When you come ride with us, we want you to be as comfortable as possible! So here are a few of our favorite Lucy Activewear outfits we like to wear when we’re sweating it out on the bike!

We are recently obsessed with cross-back or racer back tanks with built in bras. These tops provide the support you need while remaining lightweight and comfortable.

Form fitting pants work best. Try to avoid baggy bottoms, like yoga pants, that can get caught in the pedals. We suggest carpis or full length leggings to get the most out of your sweat session.

Light weight tanks or tees are best for cycling. Try to stick with polyester or spandex blends. 100% cotton can get heavy when you start really getting sweaty. Tanks are the CycleFit instructors preference to allow your muscles to breathe!

For all you ladies with those long locks, we definitely recommend pulling your hair back with a headband to keep those luscious locks off your beautiful, sweaty face!
